Modifying a RIF or LIF plan

Learn how to modify a Registered Retirement Income Fund (RIF) or Life Income Fund (LIF) plan request

First, find the client's CRM Contact Record page by searching contact name in the search bar.

From the client's contact record, start by navigating into the Servicing (Service Request) tab, which is found in the middle panel of the contact record. Select Plans.

From there, you can select Manage Plans and proceed to specify the details of the request via the right sidebar pop-up. 

 

Step 1:

  • The first property you will be asked to specify is the Request Type. 
  • Select RIF or LIF. Depending on which plan you want to modify. 

 

Step 2:

  • Select the plan that you want to modify. 

 

Step 3:

Under booking details switch on the modify slider for the item you want to change. You will be prompted to specify: 

  • Banking Details
  • Amount
  • Frequency 
  • Start Date

Note: To update banking details on a RIF &/or LIF account, the desired banking information must first be present on the cash account that shares the same root ID as the RIF/LIF. Once present on the relevant cash account, the banking information will be displayed when modifying a plans banking information.

Please Note: The start date for RIF/LIF modifications cannot be less than 14 calendar days in advance.

  • Click Submit once the information is added. You can now track your ticket.
