Transferring money between accounts (Transfer requests)

Learn how to transfer funds between accounts.

Search for client contact in the HubSpot Search bar, open the client contact card, and find the client’s CRM Contact record page.

You can submit a request to transfer funds between accounts by navigating to the Servicing (Service Request) extension, selecting Cash and Security Management, and then by selecting Transfer.

The Transfer request section has two Request Types that you can choose from: Securities Transfer, Cash Transfer.

Securities Transfer

When requesting a securities transfer, it is important to note the permitted transfers.

Security transfers can be done if the from and to account are the same type. For example: Cash to Cash, Margin to Cash. If the primary account holders are not the same, transfers between registered accounts are not permitted.

Furthermore, this request is used to roll-over funds from an RRSP to RIF & LIRA to LIF. 

If the accounts do not have matching primary holders the request is limited to non-registered accounts and you must attach an Letter of Direction (LOD) that is signed by the client of the from account.

Cash Transfer

A Cash Transfer will move the funds between two accounts in cash. 

Cash Transfers can be done if the from and to account are the same type. For example: Non-Registered to Non-Registered. If the primary account holders are not the same, transfers between registered accounts are not permitted.

Furthermore, this request is used to roll-over funds from an RRSP to RIF & LIRA to LIF as well as to contribute cash to an RDSP.  

If the accounts do not have matching primary holders the request is limited to non-registered accounts & you must attach a LOD that is signed by the client of the from account.
