Beneficiary Requests

Learn about the two different Beneficiary Requests

You can submit a request to edit a client's Beneficiary Request directly through the client's CRM Contact Record. First, search for client name in the search bar, then navigate to the Servicing (Service Request) extension in the middle panel of the contact record. Next, select Account Administration, and select Beneficiary. The Beneficiary request section has two Request Types that you can choose from: Designation and change of beneficiary, and RESP Beneficiary Designation.

Designation and Change of Beneficiary

Designation and change of beneficiary requests provide you with the opportunity to update the beneficiaries listed on your registered and plan accounts. By utilizing the Designation and Change of Beneficiary option, you are able to clearly outline who will inherit your assets upon your passing, ensuring that your wishes are respected and followed. This process can also help streamline the distribution of benefits by bypassing the probate process, resulting in a faster allocation of assets to your chosen beneficiaries.

RESP Beneficiary Designation

RESP Beneficiary designation is crucial in the context of Registered Education Savings Plans (RESPs), as it determines who will receive education assistance payments made by the government (promoter) based on the owner's (subscriber) contributions. This designation ensures that the funds accumulated in the RESP are directed towards the intended beneficiary, such as a child or family member, to support their educational pursuits even after the owner's passing. By naming a RESP beneficiary, you not only safeguard your investment but also provide financial stability and assistance for the educational future of your loved ones.
