How to Submit a Tax Preparation Request
Learn how to submit a request for Tax Preparation services on behalf of a client.
Applies To:
All Portfolio Managers, Advisors, Wealth Planners, and support staff.
Available for clients using Family Office Services.
You can submit a Tax Preparation request from a client’s CRM Contact Record. Follow the steps below to ensure all required information and documents are submitted correctly.
When to Submit a Tax Preparation Request
- A client has requested tax preparation services for the current or previous tax year.
- A client is submitting tax documents for annual tax filing.
How to Submit a Tax Preparation Request
To submit a tax preparation request, you'll use the Service Extension on the client's CRM Contact Record.
- Navigate to the Client’s CRM Contact Record.
- Go to the Servicing Tab.
- Select Family Office Services → Tax Preparation.
- In the submission form, select the applicable tax year(s) you are submitting for (e.g., previous year and/or current year).
- Enter the total number of tax returns you are submitting for the client.
- Upload the required documents:
- Attach the completed tax preparation forms.
- If submitting multiple files, ensure all documents are zipped together into a single zip file before uploading.
- Review & Submit
- Once all files are uploaded and information is complete, click Submit to create the service request ticket.
Tip: Double-check that all documents are included and that multiple files are zipped together to avoid processing delays.
After Submitting the Request
A new service request ticket will be created. You can locate it:
- In the Right-Side Panel of the client's CRM Contact Record under Tickets.
- In the Tax Preparation Pipeline, where you can track the progress and confirm when the request is completed.
Processing Times
- Typically 4 business days after the ticket has been submitted and completed any applicable review.
