• Cash (ending in A)
• RRSP (ending in S)
• Spousal RSP (ending in R)
• TFSA (ending in W)

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Log into Your Online Banking App or Banking Website

  • Open your bank’s online banking app on your mobile device or go to the bank’s website on your computer.
  • Enter your login credentials to access your account.

2. Find the Bill Payments Option

  • Navigate to the section of the app or website where you can manage bill payments. This is usually labeled as “Bill Payments,” “Pay Bills,” or “Payments.”
  • Select the option to add a new payee or bill.

3. Add NBIN as a Payee

  • Search for NBIN (National Bank Independent Network) in the list of available payees. If you cannot find it, you may need to manually add it as a new payee.
  • When adding NBIN, you will be prompted to enter your Optimize Account Number. Ensure you enter this number correctly, as it will be used to credit your investment account.
4. Make a Bill Payment
  • Once NBIN is successfully added as a payee, navigate back to the bill payments section.
  • Select NBIN as the payee, enter the amount you wish to contribute, and choose the account from which the funds will be debited.
  • Confirm the payment details and submit the payment.
5. Confirmation and Processing
  • After completing the payment, you should receive a confirmation message or email from your bank.
  • Typically, online bill payments are completed within 3-4 business days after the request is processed by your bank. However, processing times can vary, so it’s a good idea to check with your financial institution for their specific processing time.

Please note: The process for adding a payee and making a bill payment using a bank's online banking app or website varies from bank to bank. The instructions above are an example of the typical process most banks follow. Please check with your bank for specific instructions on how to add a payee and make a bill payment.

Additional Tips
  • Double-Check Details: Ensure that all the details, especially your Optimize Account Number, are correct to avoid delays or errors in processing your contribution.
  • Save Payee Information: Saving NBIN as a payee in your online banking app can make future contributions quicker and easier.
  • Monitor Your Account: Keep an eye on your Optimize investment account to confirm that the contribution has been received and processed.
